20+ HOME-BASED JOBS…YOU Can Start Today!

No doubt, a traditional 9-5 job may offer more stability and structure in life, but many people love the flexibility and independence that comes with home-based jobs or micro-task jobs that can be done part time. Due to the pandemic and increased need for remote work, working from home has become fairly simple and there’s no reason why you couldn’t give it a try! This blog post was inspired by Robin Barrett’s Youtube video that mentions legit work from home jobs for people living the RV lifestyle. The video outlines over 20 remote jobs from a chapter of her book, Work From Home While You Roam. So I’m excited to highlight a few of the Micro tasks jobs below.

According to Wikipedia, a micro job is a temporary, task-type job of all types, often booked through the Internet. Work may include web-based or in-person jobs, such as writing blogs, virtual assistant, handyman, nanny, website design, dog boarding or errands, etc.

  1. User Testers provide usability testing which is giving feedback on website and app performance in real- time. People 18 years or older can get paid to browse a variety of websites and mobile apps from home. Job seekers must have an internet connection and microphone. These jobs help companies build better products and experiences for consumers worldwide! User Testers can earn up to $120 per test.

While the Analysia usability tester program is currently closed their website recommends you visit the following websites for similar job resources UserTesting, UTest, Userlytics, Validately, StartUplift, Usability.gov, UserFeel, HotJar.

  1.  Mystery Shop for movie theaters as a Certified Field Associate(CFA). Certified Field Associates provide secret shoppers and on-site evaluations for movie theaters. Participants get paid up to $15 hourly to confirm which trailers are played before a movie, count patrons, evaluate audience reactions, install promotional materials and more!

  1. Resell items to 3rd party sites like Decluttr. Third party e-commerce companies pay people to sell new and used items on their website. Depending on the company they accept physical products such as books, clothing, electronics and more. Most reseller businesses provide FREE shipping for items they want to buy. Electronics are often high priority so buyers may offer to send you a prepaid shipping label. So next time you find unwanted items, consider reselling it for extra cash!

Back to the Basics: 8 Must Haves for Working From Home

Back to the Basics: 8 Must Haves for Working From Home

Working from home was never a reality for many of us prior to Covid. However it has become quite common in the new age of technology, some people still either prefer working in an office setting or their job doesn’t allow them to work from home. On the other hand, a lot of us have found ourselves forced to work from home.

Since most people have no prior experience in working remotely, there are some basic steps that should be followed to make your job transition more enjoyable.

Make a Work Schedule:

While most of us may have the flexibility of setting our schedule for working from home, it is better to stick to a schedule we’re used to, or our employers recommend. To not increase already existing stress, your schedule does not have to be binding. Rearrange it according to what suits you best, as long as you keep getting a considerable amount of work done.

Develop a Home Office:

Considering the circumstances, it is not likely that the majority of us already have an existing home office to work from. But, a make-shift space can be made. You need to have a quiet and peaceful space to work from. All you need is a table, a chair, a laptop with a working internet connection, office supplies and you’re good to go!

Have Reliable Electronics and Internet Connection:

Since you will be the connection between you and your company, and will likely need to communicate with them often, having a reliable phone, computer and internet connection is essential for you. Your working space should have an outlet and a backup electricity supply in case you run out of battery or charging. Make sure you also have a backup internet supply in case your internet is down, such as data on your mobile phone.

Dress Accordingly:

No one will see you while you work, but dressing appropriately will put you in the right frame of mind and will increase your productivity levels. This does not mean dressing up into formal clothing like you would for a regular office, but changing out of pyjamas into at least day clothes can be a start. While you don’t technically need to do this, it can help demarcate your time from your work time and make it easy to follow a schedule and stay up to date.

Communicate Regularly:

While, not having to see your boss or co-workers every day sounds like a good idea, keeping them out of the loop though may not be. If you are working remotely, communication with your employer and colleagues is essential. Stay in touch with them via email, instant messaging, or programs that allow you to work simultaneously with your colleagues on shared documents. Don’t hesitate to contact your team via phone or email if you have concerns along the way.

Stay Focused:

Working from home may seem easy, but it can be difficult to keep yourself focused if you’re constantly faced with distractions such as the doorbell ringing or your family talking in the background. Keep your workspace relatively distraction-free. Consider getting noise-cancellation headphones, or use other methods of sound-proofing. If you live with a family or roommates, let them know that you are not to be disturbed at this time.

Avoid Extra-Curricular Activities during Work Hours:

If there are some household tasks or chores you are required to be tending to while you’re at home, schedule them according to your working timetable so that you don’t need to use your ‘office hours’ for household tasks. You need to be disciplined and able to manage time efficiently. Avoid taking breaks for cleaning or cooking and schedule time for them later, so they don’t pose a distraction while you work from home.

Keep Your Mind Fresh:

Working from home can over some time become quite lonely and claustrophobic, especially when you’re stuck in a routine and can’t leave your house often. Some ways to keep yourself from falling into the monotony is to keep your mind fresh. Try to set up your working space near a window so you can have a view of the outside while you work. If you’re not lucky enough for that, keeping an indoor plant near your work table is fairly low-maintenance and can have a positive effect. Keep yourself well hydrated and have healthy snacks in the middle to keep your energy levels up.

These are just a handful of small essentials to fulfill to make working from home a wholesome and positive experience for yourself. Choosing the best environment for yourself and optimizing it according to your needs is the secret to having a successful home office.

The 3 Best Side Hustles, for 2021

The 3 Best Side Hustles, for 2021

By: Kayla McDonald

Were you forced to stay home in 2020? Did your job cut hours due to Covid-19? Are you enjoying the time freedom but still needing extra money? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

Government shutdowns and unemployment has changed the job market forcing people to work from home and search for different ways to make money. One of the most popular methods to make extra money is called a side hustle or side gig. Side Gigs allow people to monetize their talents and special interests. Monetizing skills you already have is a great idea and convenient way to start a new career from home. But if you never sold anything or been paid for doing a simple task  –– you may feel overwhelmed. That’s what inspired me five years ago, to develop a career guide with ten side hustles that people of any age can start from home.

In honor of what may be your 2021 New Year’s resolution, I’m listing my top picks of the best side hustles to jumpstart your career!

The 3 Best Side Hustles, according to Opinion Profit Club

1. Arts & Crafts Jobs –

The Art & Design industry is where many creative ideas are born and transformed into products or services. Money can be made doing things you enjoy like writing, drawing, painting and sewing. People in the arts who have these skills can get paid to write essays, advertising copy, video scripts and music. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Fine Artists, including Painters, Sculptors, and Illustrators earn an average of $63,060 a year. Love to draw? Start your career by designing t-shirts or company logos for a local business. Professional painting opportunities are growing with the real estate industry. You can get experience with residential painting by volunteering to help family, friends and nonprofit organizations paint homes. As you improve, offer to do paid gigs as a professional painter. Furthermore, people who craft can get paid for home-made creations. This is a side hustle people normally do as a hobby. Paid opportunities for arts and crafts projects often get overlooked. People who sell quilts, holiday wreaths, sculptors and custom items are making lots of money on websites like Etsy.

2. Auto Detailing Jobs –

The Automotive industry includes the design, maintenance and sale of vehicles. If you have an interest in anything with wheels like bikes, cars, and trucks, it’s a good chance you may excel in this industry! Automobiles are very important to the progression of society. They allow  us to travel and deliver goods & services. Careers in auto detailing are necessary in order to develop vehicles and keep it operating properly. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Automotive Body and Related Repairers earn an average of $47,390 a year. Exploring a career in “Auto detailing” is a great way to make money from home. You can get started in this profession by hand-washing cars and vacuuming vehicles in your neighborhood. Use your spare time to learn about auto paints and how chemicals react to them. Newbies can practice by offering auto detailing services at no cost. As your skills improve you can charge a fee for hand-washing and vacuuming the interior of cars in your area.

3. Lawncare & Gardening Jobs –
The Lawn Care industry is a form of landscaping that is focused on managing grass or soil portions of land. While homeowners often refer to grassland as a “yard”  businesses call it a “lawn”. Regardless of what we call it, lawmakers expect both renters and owners of such properties to keep grass cut, weeds pulled and litter removed. These laws and regulations increase the need for Landscapers. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers

earn an average of $32,360 a year. If this sparks your interest, observe how homeowners and lawncare professionals maintain land. Do your research by reading books and watching videos for these jobs. Ask a mentor to show you how to cut grass, trim shrubs and plant flowers. Get practice when the weather is nice. Once your skills improve, offer to complete tasks for a fee.

You heard it here — working a side hustle in 2021 is possible. So if you’re looking to get out of debt or save money, working a side gig is a great way of reaching your goals. Is it the best way to earn extra cash?

Of course, you could ask your boss for a promotion or consider changing jobs—or even careers — But that can take some time.

In the meantime, master one of the skills above and start a side gig! These are only three of my top picks for 2021, subscribe to my newsletter for more side hustle ideas.
